Our Policies

Our Douglas Lake boat rental season is open from Mid-March thru mid to late October.

BOATER’S LICENSE
Not required before making a reservation. Instructions on how to obtain a temporary boater’s license will be sent to each customer by email. Upon completing the safety video(s), a quiz is given as part of the check-in process. A temporary boater’s license is granted upon successful completion of the safety video and quiz.

DRIVER’S LICENSE
You must have a valid U.S. driver’s license present at the check-in window when checking in for ALL motorized equipment. We can no longer take a photo of your license as having one present, please don’t forget to bring it with you. Anyone that doesn’t have a valid U.S. driver’s license will not be allowed to drive. There will be no refunds on any reserved motorized equipment that will result in cancelling that equipment due to you forgetting your license.

RESERVATIONS
Reservations are not required but are recommended. You can make a reservation through our Book Now button or you can call so we can help you. A partial payment is required to make a reservation or you can choose to pay in full. Walk ups are always welcome!!

RAIN
If it is storming or comes a heavy rain at H20 Sports at the time of your rental, you may cancel without paying any fees. If you return off the water early due to rain, you may get a partial-prorated refund if you have more than an hour remaining on your rental. We don’t count sprinkling, slow drizzle, or light rain in the weather policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY
You can cancel anytime prior to 48 hours of your reservation and receive a full refund. If you cancel within 25-48 hours of your reservation there is a $50 cancellation fee and you will only receive 50% of your deposit. Cancellations done within 24 hours or less will result in no refund. If you make a reservation and are unable to provide the required damage deposit, this will result in a cancellation of your reservation and no refund will be given. If you don’t have a valid U.S. Driver’s License to operate the equipment this will result in a cancellation of your rental with no refund.

PETS
We ONLY allow non-shedding dog breeds that weigh less than 20 pounds. Service dogs are permitted, but identification or proof of service must be presented at the time of your rental. If you bring a dog on the boat that sheds there will be a $50 cleaning fee charged in order to rid the boat of dog hair.

AGES FOR OPERATION
Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied on board by a parent at all times. Ages 16-18 may operate jet skis within parents’ constant sight. Ages 18 years and up can operate jet skis and pontoon boats without supervision. All drivers must have a valid U.S. drivers license and are required to watch an instructional video prior to operating any watercraft.

ALCOHOL
H2O Sports is a family oriented business, with that said, alcohol is permitted on board, but each rental party must have a designated driver at all times. The alcohol must be kept to a minimum and all individuals can’t become intoxicated. The designated driver isn’t allowed to consume any alcohol at all. We don’t allow partying on our rentals.

DAMAGE / SECURITY DEPOSIT
Lessees are required to pay a $500.00 damage/security deposit with cash or a credit card prior to the pontoon and tritoon boat rentals and $400 prior to each jet ski rental. This fee will be refunded if no damage occurs during your rental time. As the lessee, you are responsible for any and all damage to watercraft (or their accessories) incurred during your time on the water. As the lessee, you are responsible for any individuals on the boat and assume responsibility for alcohol consumption, along with behavior. As the lessee you are assuming the security of the motorized watercraft. Upon the time of checking in for your reservation, if you are unable to provide the required damage deposit your reservation will be cancelled with no refund. If excessive cleaning is required upon your return, we will charge a cleaning fee against the damage/security deposit. Out of respect for our staff and customers that follow you, we ask that you try and keep the boat as clean as possible from trash, food, spilled drinks, and clay mud. The minimum charge for cleaning for you will be $50.00.

COST OF FUEL
The fuel is not included in the rental cost and it is the lessee’s responsibility to ensure the cost of fuel is paid upon checking out. We send you out on a full tank of gas and once you return at the end of your rental time the dock hands will fill the tank back up. The dock hands will report the number of gallons you used to the office so they can let you know the cost. If you don’t check out, we will call you so you are aware of your fuel charge, and charge the card on file. You will receive a receipt in your email.

MAP
Upon checking in you will receive a map of Douglas Lake, this is part of the boat rental and is to be returned when checking out. If the map is damaged, lost, or you forget to check out, the cost to replace the map is $10.00. This will be charged to the card you reserved your rental with. You will receive a receipt in your email.

PARKING
Parking is limited, so consolidating your rental party into as few vehicles as possible is greatly appreciated.

WAVERUNNER/JET SKI
Each jet ski has a capacity for up to 2-3 people or up to 450lbs. For example, an adult and 2 small children or 2 adults may ride together. If you hope to rent a boat and a jet ski, please keep in mind that drivers and riders wanting to switch on an off the jet ski should swim back and forth from vessel to vessel. The jet ski should never touch the boat. If you hope to switch riders and drivers at our facility, please ask about that procedure at check-in. If unsafe behavior is exhibited, you will be asked to leave and forfeit any remaining time.

EQUIPMENT LIABILITY
The maximum pieces of equipment any group/party can rent is 3 during the time of your reservation. Any attempt to rent more than 3 pieces of motorized equipment will result in cancellation of those additional rentals that puts you over 3 with no refund. This liability policy applies even if individuals in your group make a separate reservation under a different name. We will not waive on this policy.

PLEASE NOTE:
Grills or any other cooking equipment are not permitted on the boats.
