Some Frequently Asked Questions

We’re here to help with any questions about our boats, pricing, or any other rental info.

Reservations & Arrival Questions

Do I need a reservation?

Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during peak season. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability, but booking in advance is the best way to guarantee your rental.

What time should I arrive?

All renters and drivers must arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled reservation time for check-in and safety procedures.

If you arrive late, your rental time will not be extended.

What happens if I return late?

Your equipment is reserved for the next customer. Late returns are subject to a per-minute late fee. If you would like to extend your rental, please call before your return time and we will accommodate you if availability allows.

Licensing & Age Requirement Questions

Do I need a boating license?

A state boating license is not required. Drivers must have an active U.S. driver’s license.

All drivers must watch our safety video and pass a short quiz at check-in. You will be issued a temporary boating certification for the duration of your rental.

Who is required to watch the safety video?

Every person who will operate the boat or jet ski.

What is the age requirement to drive?

Boats: 18+ with valid driver’s license

Jet skis: 18+ (16+ may operate alone if a parent/guardian remains in eyesight)

Pricing, Fuel & Deposit Questions

Is fuel included?

No. All rentals leave with a full tank. You are only charged for the fuel you use when you return.

All inclusive options include 1 tank of gas, taxes, and fees.

Some 60 HP pontoon rentals include one tank. All-Inclusive packages include up to one tank of fuel.

What does “All-Inclusive” mean?

All-Inclusive rentals include up to one tank of fuel. Towables, gratuity, and damage costs are not included.

Is there a damage deposit?

Yes. A $500 damage deposit per vessel is required at check-in. This may be held on a card or paid in cash.

The deposit is released after inspection if no damage is found.

How long does it take for the hold to be released?

Typically 2–5 business days, depending on your bank.

Can I pay the damage deposit in cash?

Yes. Cash deposits are often preferred to avoid a hold on your card.

What happens if equipment is damaged?

Damage costs vary depending on severity. The deposit is not a flat damage fee. We will inspect the equipment with you upon return and discuss any necessary charges.

Weather & Cancellation Questions

What is your weather policy?

Weather cancellations are determined at our location on the day of your reservation.

If there is persistent rain or an active storm at our dock, you may:
Receive a refund
Reschedule your rental
We do not refund based on forecasts, light rain, overcast conditions, or passing showers.

What is your cancellation policy?

More than 48 hours: Full refund
25–48 hours: $50 fee + 50% refund
Under 24 hours: No refund

Overnight Rental Questions

Do you offer overnight rentals?

Yes. Pontoons and tritoons are available for overnight rental with approved dock and location. Jet skis are not eligible.

What are the conditions for overnight approval?

Your dock must:
Be in a cove
Be private
Have at least 6 feet of water
Covered docks on the main channel may be approved case-by-case.

What do I need to do to reserve overnight?

Click “Book Now” and choose Overnight Boats.
If your location is not already approved, we may request photos of the dock and location.

Location & Lake Info Questions

Where are you located?

1955 Chestnut Hill Road
Dandridge, TN 37725

Located between historic Dandridge and Bush’s Beans Visitor Center on Highway 92.

Where can we go on the lake?

Boat & Jet Ski rentals have no restricted areas on Douglas Lake.

What if I get lost?

Drop a pin on your phone before leaving the dock. GPS works on the water. You may also call our office for assistance.

Jet Ski's

Can we pull a tube with a jet ski?

No. Our jet skis are not designed for towables.

Can we swap riders and drivers?

Yes, riders and drivers can be swapped, but this must be limited to once per hour at our facility. If you need to switch more frequently, we ask that you do so in a safe and appropriate location on the water.

All drivers of the jet ski must have gone through the H2O Sports driver check-in process prior to driving the jet ski.

Additional Questions

What’s the difference between a pontoon and a tritoon?

A pontoon has two tubes and 60–115 HP engines, ideal for cruising.
A tritoon has three tubes, higher horsepower (150–300 HP), increased stability, and is better suited for tubing and watersports.

Can we bring our own tube?

We prefer you use our approved tubes to ensure proper fit and safety.

Do your boats have changing rooms?

Some boats include changing areas. We also have on-site changing facilities.

Do your boats have restrooms?

No. Our boats do not have restrooms. A public boat dock approximately 5 minutes away has facilities. You may also return to our dock if needed.

Can we bring our dog?

Dogs under 20 lbs and non-shedding breeds are allowed. If additional cleaning is required after your rental, a $50 cleaning fee may apply.

Can we bring food and drinks?

Yes. Coolers are welcome.
Grills, charcoal, and open flames are not permitted.
We also sell snacks, drinks, and ice at our location.

Can we bring alcohol?

Yes, alcohol is allowed. However, there must be a designated sober driver operating the boat at all times.

Are life jackets provided?

Yes. We provide life jackets for all ages and sizes.

What is the maximum occupancy?

Pontoons: 10 passengers (1,500 lbs max)
Tritoons: 12 passengers (1,800 lbs max)
Elite Tritoon: Up to 14 passengers (2,100 lbs max)
Waverunners: 1–3 riders, 450 lbs max

All ages count toward the maximum occupancy.

Do you offer captains?

Captain services are separate contracts from your rental agreement. We can provide contact information for certified captains upon request.

Do you sell fishing equipment or bait?

We offer ready-to-use fishing poles and some tackle. We do not sell bait.

Do you offer military discounts?

Yes. 5% off up to $40 with valid ID.

Can I launch my own boat from your ramp?

No. There is a public ramp located on Public Drive in Dandridge.
